We're all in this together and with each passing day of the lock-down maintaining a routine is crucial. With many of us currently working at home, it's easy to sleep in late everyday.
Also, did you know that what you do the first few minutes of waking up will set the tone for the rest of your day? So create a healthy morning routine for optimal wellness during self-isolation.
Now more than ever it's important to nourish your body, mind and spirit.
You definitely will be glad that you did so continue reading for my 5 morning routine hacks for self-isolation.
WAKE UP EARLY
Early to bed and early to rise as the saying goes. Get your sleep on a consistent basic because only then will you be able to wake up early which will help to to increase your mental alertness, stamina, skin repair and overall mood. The hours between 5:00-7:00 am are ideal.
Set aside time to practice a few minutes of meditation every morning. Deep breathing exercises along with being grateful will help to relax your mind. Making this a ritual will do wonders for your psyche while reducing anxiety.
DRINK LEMON WATER
Sipping on this immediately upon waking will help to really get your body going. The alkalinity that the lemon adds will boost your immunity and digestive system. It also promotes hydration and is a good source of Vitamin C. You can customize your H2O by adding various things like ginger, fresh herbs or slices of cucumber.
If you've never tried a morning exercise session, well now's the time! It's a great way to increase your circulation, flexibility and mental stamina for the day. I suggest starting out with stretching your body first thing in the morning. Then do some yoga, Pilates and cardio for a complete body workout.
LISTEN TO A PODCAST
Start your day off on a positive note and listen to a podcast. Not only will you be learning something new, but try to stream episodes that focus on self-improvement, culture and helping others. Listening to uplifting content will inspire and activate the creative portion of your brain.
